Oslo - Norway, Oberammergau - Germany September 21, 2024 — In a significant cross-border collaboration that underscores Norway’s commitment to advancing international cross-country skiing, Janteloppet AS, the prestigious race company founded by cross-country legend Petter Northug, has signed a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding with König Ludwig Lauf (KLL), one of Germany’s most iconic ski events.
This agreement marks a momentous step, as it positions Janteloppet’s newly created Grand Prize Championship to take on a new European dimension. The deal will see a new race, incorporated into Janteloppet’s Grand Prize Championship series starting in 2026, uniting two of the sport’s premier ski events.
